Bold Mission Builders Project #1 2010 Pleasant Hill Baptist Church Moundville, AL
Pleasant Hill lost their previous building to fire (suspected arson) in early 2009. Their insurance was not adequate to replace the building. We are partnering with the Carpenters for Christ and the Alabama Baptist Convention to help them rebuild a completely new worship and educational facility. The new building will be 7, 000 + square feet.
The slab was completed on February 20, 2010.
March 15 19 Building will be framed by Carpenters for Christ, Attalla, AL (several of the BMB team members from Bethel Baptist, Americus, will help with the framing).
March 17 20 BMB roofing team will install architectural shingles on the roof. William Herndon and Rusty Stewart will be coordinating the roofing. Anyone interested in helping with the roofing will be welcome and appreciated.
June 6 11 Electrical and HVAC rough-in, baptismal pool plumbing/electrical (started) - BMB teams from Zion Baptist, Covington; Harvest Baptist, Covington; and Gateway, Covington
June 13 18 Plumbing rough-in, installation and painting of soffit, ceilings in porches and drive-thru, baptismal pool plumbing/electrical (continued), completion of any framing necessary (deadwood, etc.) BMB teams from Bethel Baptist, Americus; First Baptist, Forest Park; and, Macedonia Baptist, Oxford.
June 26 July 3 Brick laying team from Bristol, Tennessee.
July 4 10 Sheetrock hanging BMB team from Rockdale Baptist, Conyers.
July 25 30 Interior trim and painting BMB teams from Zion, Covington; First Baptist, Conyers; Northminster Baptist, Conyers; Macedonia, Oxford; and, High Point Baptist, Covington.
The building insulation, sheetrock finishing and floor covering will be contracted out by Pleasant Hill Baptist.
Meals The roofing team will be fed by the Carpenters for Christ cooking crew. The BMB teams for the weeks of June 6 and July 4 will be fed by the members of Pleasant Hill Baptist. The BMB teams for the weeks of June 13 and July 25 will have their own cooking crew. Meals will be served at several locations, depending on size of the team, primarily at the Moundville Methodist Church or at the Pleasant Hill building site. Each Bold Mission Team member is asked to contribute $25 to cover the cost of food. Someone each week will be designated to receive your money. Families who participate are asked to contribute a total of $50 maximum.
Lodging Several options are available for lodging. (Note: Team leaders please let Joel Brown know your teams lodging plans 2 weeks before your arrival date.)
